What's in a name of a gay Street.. Pt 2

(Catch up with Part 1 here)

....But the free spirit in me was like FUCK it, just go with the flow.

Ended up in some gay pub (wiki it if you don't know what a pub is) where there were aged 30+ men taking part in a quiz

Diego saw a couple of people he knew and introduced me. He greeted them with air kisses; I greeted with a screwface, slanted eyes and a slight nod. After a quick drink we went onto another bar. The Bar was more upscale. I laughed to myself when the black bouncer said, "Do you know what kind of place this is yeah? Are you sure? Tell me then!" I replied "A gay one?" and on that soundbite he let me in.

We knock back a couple of shots, and order some spirits with a mixer in corner booth. I feel the drinks getting to me and start thinking about how a gay spot was not what I imagined it to be. Everyone just looked 'normal' bar a freakshows that I guess get kick out of people reactions to them. I caught Diego staring at me with a grin on his face, like he was just look at me and admiring. Next thing I know his lips are kissing mine and in opposed to how I told myself how I would react if events were gonna take a turn like this, I just went with it!

Diego has a charm about him that made me want to see the situation through until the next morning. So we finished up and caught a cab to his docklands apartment. The pad was nice, high ceilings and everything finished to a high spec.

Its about 3am at this point and I strip down to my boxers and get in the sheets. Round one kicked off spotaneously. His petit frame and passion behind every move made for a good session. Tight and clean just the way I like it. He fell asleep with his head on my chest. I feel asleep shortly after.

I woke up to him cooking me breakfast and going on and on about how great the night before was. He went on to talk about what we'd be doing on the weekend and in my head I decided it was a wrap, so after a 2nd session for closure's sake, I hit the road and then delete button on my phone.

5 days of a series of missed calls, unreturned voicemails and then bitter texts came and went before Diego got the hint. I felt a bit bad mind in retrospect.

I guess I was not where he was at with his sexuality. He was a very proud gay guy, no hushed conversations away from prying ears, an exclusively gay social circle of early 30 somethings and seemingly a familiar face in the nightclub scene. Conclusion? Good guy, but not for me.

Antoine your 15 mins.... starts... NOW

Remember this incident. Well it seems Antoine Dodson has become a viral sensation. Check out his reaction to the online buzz below:

Its a shame in 2010, a guy with feminine tendancies would be considered news in place of something more impactful. That's all I have to say on the matter.

Actually no it isn't. I hope he can monetize this situation to get him and his family out of the projects. Someone give him a reality show.

BLUD Health: Feet Maintenance

Fellas,  in this summer weather, you've got to take care of feet, especially if sandals / flip flops ain't a part of your personal style and you are in the gym a lot. There is nothing worse than crusty soles and smelly peeling skin between your toes. Here are some tips to keep your feet on point at all times:

  • Wash your feet twice a day, foot filing with a pumice stone to remove dead skin.
  • Dry the feet throughly including between each toe.
  • Apply liquid parafin or petroleum jelly (epaderm or vaseline) to the entire foot excluding between the toes
  • For between the toes, using a cotton swab, apply surgical spirit between the toes to help prevent flaking by promoting hardening of the skin
  • Cover both feet with cotton socks to lock in the moisture working its magic

And you're good to go!

My 2 pence: As long as that floating feeling I get, in the moment, makes it really worth it

As corny as it sounds, some people think with their heart and I am one of them. At the same time I'd rather feel a vibe out and go with how I feel, than to over analyse, hedging my bets on one horse and draining the fun out of a situation.

I think too often people get so caught up in the fantasy of what they imagine things to be like versus the reality of how much work goes into a successful relationship. So why not take the light approach and build on it step by step?

*Gets off soap box

What is your approach to new situations?

@atlantasistah Breaks it down in real doses

Check out this video from atlantasistah, one of my favorite youtubers that a fellow blogger put me on to. In it she talks about people who maquerade as being afrocentric when really they have a  negative outlook on life and themselves.

My thoughts? This video is a dose of reality that a lot of folks need to exceed on. As someone who lives in the developed world with access to knowledge and power readily available if life isn't going your way you only have your self-discipline and people you allow yourself to be influenced by to blame.

Antoine Antoine Antoine!

Check out this news feature covering an attempted rape in the projects. The feature's focus gets lost in the commentary from the victims brother kicks in. I swear, things that make you go LOL!

NYC SUBWAY SHOCKER: Tranny reeking havoc with no panties

I don't know what to say about this. I mean, we've all been on the subway and seen drunken madness but this? THIS! I mean this is the kind of scene where you wouldn't know where to laugh or cry. As I'm watching from the comfort of my own home though, iLaughed. LOL.

Inception Actor Tom Hardy on Guys: "I'm an artist. I've played with everything and everyone"

Inception Actor Tom Hardy has created a media buzz after speaking on his 'team chico' experiences. In an interview with NOW magazine, when asked whether he'd ever been with a guy, the 32 year old responded:

"As a boy? Of course I have. I'm an actor, for f***'s sake."

He went on to say:

"It just doesn't do it for me, sex with another man. But there's plenty of stuff in a relationship with another man – especially gay men – that I need in my life. I have definite feminine qualities and a lot of gay men are incredibly masculine."

My 2 pence? Hats off to him for his honesty. If more people in the public eye took his direct approach to what is still a taboo subject, maybe guys who sit outside the stereotypical gay image acting on attraction to men wouldn't be such a controversial topic.

Check about this hilarious video from B Scott below where he explains the meaning behind his new phrase.

Hollywood Houseboys

Check out this vimeo video offering an alternative twist to 'Housewives'.

Ok so where do I begin with this Noah's Arc rip-off gone wrong? This should be called Hollywood Rent Boys with the way they are pushing the fact that the lead live a sponsored lifestyle like its something to be proud of. Folks with such an outlook make me sick. I only have time for the go getters. The zest factor and drama will only reinforce negative stereotypes which translates as the show not doing anything in terms of being progressive or innovating. How funding was secured for the pilot I don't even want to think about. I found the whole thing unrelateable so if you are looking for programming with substance that you can empathise with, continue on with your search.

Grade? F

"I'll see you later"

So earlier this week I met up with a guy I've been getting to know over the last couple weeks. Good looking, wicked sexual imagination, but the paranoia that I mention in a previous post about the mindset. Basically he views me not a TJ, down to earth, chilled and laid back and on the path to getting goals accompolished. But simply an easy on the eye link, who mentally he can relate to, possibly 'do a ting' with, then chuck away the disposable pay as you go sim card so there is no further means of communication. I get the nut, He gets the nut, the guilt kicks in and he can't reconcile the urge to satisfy a need that he has been brought up to despise with all that he is.

If you are cool with that then its all systems go, and in this case that is what it was. After all I needed a nut and I'd established enough to know that his issues aside he had a good heart, even if it was for one night only.

So the scene was set. He scooped me up from my area in a neutral spot. We drove for about 20 minutes until we reached our destination. Pulled up in a waitrose carpark after hours. I looked him in the eye with a wicked smile on my face and said "So what's good?" to my surprise he interlocked his hand with mine and gave me a look of vulnerability and fear but at the same time, his trust to take things to the next level. He then leaned for the kiss and damn it was a powerful one. The type that feels so right.

This was playing in the background:

The next hour was spent just blessing each other and making each other feel good in the back seat. He taught me a thing or two also. After we both nutted and got clean, we sat in the back seat for 15 minutes in silent bliss. Whatever was going on in his life at this moment didn't matter and likewise the same with me. In an ideal world he'd be my type.

On the journey back he was talking about having work the next day and hIS mum probably being worried about him being out the house for so long. I laughed at the thought of hitting 22 and still having a curfew. When got to my drop off spot, he said "I'll see you later" and as much as I didn't want to say it, my response was "Let's not kid ourselves, no you won't". I stepped out and headed home. He tooted his horn as he pulled away.

True to form I called him a couple of days later only to hear the T-mobile automated message "The number you have dialled has not been recognised, please check the number and try again."

Classic Movie: My Beautiful Laundrette

Check out this critically acclaimed movie that I discovered, starring Daniel Day Lewis. Crazy to think that I wasn't even born when this movie came out in 1985. The movie caught a lot of slack for being risque in its time. Enjoy it while its up!

My 2 Pence: Let's Talk Bisexuals

So Bisexuals are attracted to women and men, best of both worlds and all that. Girls see them as greedy and selfish and guys see them as at a stop on the road to being gay. People forget though that on a simple level both men and women can get their dick hard. But as with being straight and being gay you are not attracted to everyone - furthermore, its more about about a balance between personality and looks.

Therefore it could be that a guy is more proactive in reaching out to guys as there are more variety in the life that tickle his fancy but not discounting the fact that should he come across the right girl he would happily hit and run or go steady depending on what the case might be.

Some people worry that being with a bisexual is to be with someone who is unsure of who they are. I think that's a load of shit to be honest. Forgetting the fact that they are attracted to both sexes, when a bisexual finds that someone, gender becomes irrelevant, as its who you are as a person that will maintain his interest.

As for the whole DL thing, I think there is no such thing. Cheating and having unsafe sex is what puts people at risk period and that you can't put a sexuality on. I think that term is one born out of hate and ignorance. If you are having casual relations with men and women and both parties are playing it safe and getting regularly checked out then what's the issue?

Not saying that outlook is for me, but its something to think about all the same.

Personal Responsibility

I stumbled across this viral campaign which is pretty much in the same vain as the last post. My opinion? Now this is how you combine humor and a shoestring budget to convey a message that sticks!

I know. Do you know?

Check out this viral campaign to generate awareness. Interesting, though the fellas should have been fresher faced and not these dead beat oldies.

On the subject, even if I'm not having sex and just getting some good head from a regular link, I still go clinic every three months for my own peace of mind. I think everyone getting theirs should take the responsibility for themselves that goes along with it.

What's in a name... of a gay street?

When I was little, whenever I heard adults use the word 'Soho' it usually followed with the word 'poofter' 'gaylord' 'battyman'. So when I started experiences new sensations, partly because of the fear of seeing somebody that knew me or my members of my family and reporting my whereabouts and company I was keeping, going to Gay friendly bars clubs and restaurants is completely off limits. Kryptonite if you wanna look at it like that.

Then there was Diego;

South American consultant in his late 20s he had it all: looks, charm and good conversation so the scene was set. Nandos Baker St. neutral to him and me. Chemistry was there, conversation was chill so once we were once he suggested we go to a bar. In my mind I was thinking oh jheeze! the irony being the setting was the dreaded location I'd feared for the longest. SOHO.

Do I make my excuses and leave or, throw caution to the wind and run with it?

To  be continued...

Relationships: Get into them blind for the thrill of the rollercoaster?

Relationships: when you are in them they are hard work and you wish that life was a little less complicated and when you are not in one then your mind works overtime on thoughts dancing around the theme of insecurity. What if 'he' never happens? Why aren't situations popping off in the way that they used to?

The real question is who are you and what are you trying to build? Think about it for a second. Are you the type to jump into situations purely on how you feel, or do you have the self control to wait it out until the honeymoon period is over to really gage what Mr man is about before taking things to the next level.

Too many times, people have this idea that they have to run into situations with a sense of urgency like its a once in a lifetime type deal when really, reacting in this way recipe for shit to be short lived. On the road to happiness you are gonna encounter some shady characters but its these experiences that shape us as people.

At the end of the day, no-one wants to be made to look a fool.

I remember about a month ago I went to a 'team chico' house party in South London. Eye candy was there in force. Must have stepped to one guy I was feeling on a contextual level, asking if he was having a good time and I was taken aback by how well mannered he was. He then introduced himself and his boy. At this point I had nothing but admiration for them. A good looking educated guy, black, masculine, secure in his looks and sexuality and in a healthy relationship with his equal who was trusting enough to let his boy converse with someone showing interest without becoming insecure; The standard we should hold for ourselves and look for in others!

I guess the point I'm making is that yeah the rollercoaster of a new interest is a thrill, but imagine how much more you'd appreciate it more if you took the time to look into its blueprint?

LOL of the day: Stans acting up

Bloc Party's Kele Does Attitude

Check out lead singer of Bloc Party Kele Okereke's cover for team chico mag Attitude.

He tells Attitude magazine, "I was born in the U.K. and my parents are Nigerian. Fundamentally, I do have problems with a lot of what I perceive to be Nigerian culture. How they treat women. How they treat gays. It's a very hierarchical system where you always have to defer to your elders even if you know them to not be right. That's something I personally disagree with. I think everything should be open to discussion. To reason is part of being human."

He also recently did an interview for BUTT magazine where he talked about being gay:

"My parents are super-Catholic and they come from a culture in Nigeria where there weren’t any visible gay people who were out and were happy. I left home when I was 20. My parents threw me out [for being gay]. Which I knew they would. We didn't speak for like a week.  ... My parents are getting older and I didn’t like the idea that they could possibly die without knowing something that is a big part of my life. It’s not easy. ... We've been talking about it."

Check out his blog here

I never knew he was 'it'. Good to know. What's sad to me is that his family disowned him, which I can tell you is the major hinerance of every discreet person from a big family in trying to deal with the spanner in your lifeworks that is male attraction!

I wonder if he'd do an interview for me that would speak to a lot of people? *Pensive face

LOL of the day

Give it about 3 minutes and you'll soon be LOL:

Loosing Sight

Do you remember when you were curious and you had images in your head about what you thought the ideal person to enter your life should be?

Cool down to Earth, goal orientated and easy on the eye. Average joe to the untrained eye so folks wouldn't talk when out and about and just assume two good friends were enjoying each others company. Enjoying each other's company for the right reasons and not just until the novelty of being in something new wears off. Old school romance like sketches of each other during 'us' time,  or a half a heart keyring that becomes whole when the two come together.

The little things like someone cooking your favorite dish and having them smiling on the inside because you appreciate their effort. Laying on the sofa with dude's head snuggled in your lap as you watch your favorite shows. Soaping dudes back in the shower and drying each other off. Anecdotes that motivate and inspire.

I guess in this world of lust and variety, what I am saying is, don't loose sight of the search for the qualities in another that you feel are important to you in favor of throw away lust when deep down you are not with it.
